Venturi has had to develop highly specific technologies to ensure that such a vehicle will withstand very low temperatures : its specifications in fact allow for the possibility of use up to - 50 °c.
Entirely managed by "Drive by Wire", the joy sticks of the "Venturi Antarctica" are designed to control the 2 electric motors with a high degree of precision. Weighing 1,200 kilos, the "Venturi Antarctica" is a light tracked vehicle which exerts extremely low pressure on the ground. Capable of carrying 1 ton of personnel and equipment over a distance exceeding 150 km, its speed will be limited to 40 km/hr, which is in fact very fast on the extremely rugged terrain of this polar region, where the greatest risk is falling into very deep crevices in the earth. Connected to the intelligent network at the Princess Elisabeth Station, Antarctica will optimise its payload capacity depending on the production and availability of energy produced by the base.
